Introduction to LAUTECH Cut off mark , Admission Requirements and School fees

Candidates seeking admission into LAUTECH begin by sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). After the examination, candidates receive their UTME results, which play a key role in determining their eligibility for admission. Interested candidates who meet LAUTECH admission requirements can proceed to apply by obtaining the application form. The screening process evaluates candidates based on their UTME scores and O’level results.

Following the screening, candidates receive their results, which further determine their chances of admission. Lautech releases its admission list in batches, listing candidates who have been offered provisional admission. Admitted candidates are then required to undergo a clearance and registration process, which involves verifying their credentials and completing all necessary registration formalities.

To confirm their admission, candidates must pay their school fees. Newly admitted students are officially welcomed into the institution during a matriculation ceremony, which marks the beginning of their academic journey.

Key Lautech Cut off mark and Admission Requirements for Freshers

To be considered for Lautech admission, candidates are required to possess the following general qualifications

  • Candidate must be at least 16 years old
  • UTME Requirements: Candidates must score no below 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board).
  • O’Level Requirements: A minimum of five O’Level credit passes at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, and other relevant subjects related to the chosen course of study
  • Post UTME Screening: Candidates are usually required to participate in the university’s post-UTME screening exercise and obtain a minimum acceptable score required for that course
  • Direct Entry: For direct entry candidates, they should possess at least two Advanced Level passes in the relevant subjects, or equivalent OND/HND/NCE/First Degree.

LAUTECH Admission Requirements Cut Off Mark 2024: What You Need to Know

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has officially set the JAMB cut off mark at 180. However, specific courses may have varying requirements, with some programs necessitating scores higher or lower than 180 for admission consideration. It’s important for candidates to check lautech admission requirements for their desired course to ensure they meet the necessary criteria.

LAUTECH departmental cut off mark is the minimum score required for admission into specific courses and varies by department. Some departments may accept a minimum of 40 points, while others may require over 70 points. It is essential for candidates to review the specific cut-off marks for their chosen department to understand their eligibility.

How to Calculate Lautech Aggregate Score 2024

To secure admission to Lautech, you must meet two key requirements: achieving Lautech cut off mark (departmental) and obtaining a qualifying JAMB score. Lautech aggregate score is calculated by combining your JAMB score and O’Level result (factors that determine Lautech cut off mark).

This score is used to determine your eligibility for admission into the university.Typically, the aggregate score is calculated using a specific formula set by the university, which may involve weighting the JAMB score and the O’Level result differently.

Step by Step Guide to Calculating Lautech Aggregate Score: Using the 75%-25% Formula

Lautech may use the 75%-25% formula to calculate your aggregate score. This method combines 75% of your JAMB score with 25% of your O’Level results to determine your Lautech aggregate score.

Step 1: Calculate your O’Level result points

  • Score your O’Level grades using this system: A1 = 6, B2 = 5, B3 = 4, C4 = 3, C5 = 2, and C6 = 1.
  • Sum the scores for the five compulsory subjects combination required for your chosen course. Read Lautech O’Level subject Combination for more information about lautech courses and their required O’Level subject combination
  • Example: Assuming my O’Level grades for the five required subjects for my chosen course are three A1s and two B2s, I would calculate the total points for these grades. For my case, three A1s yield 18 points (3 x 6), and two B2s provide 10 points (2 x 5). Therefore, the total would be 28 points (18 + 10).
  • Divide the total score by 30 and then multiply the result by 25. For example, in my case, it would be (28 ÷ 30) x 25, which equals 23.3.

Step 2: Calculate 75% of your JAMB Result

  • Divide your JAMB score by 400 and multiply it by 75. For example if I scored 250 in JAMB examination, it’ll be (250 ÷ 400) x 75, which equals 46.9

Step 3: Sum up your O’Level point and your JAMB point to obtain your aggregate score (Lautech cut off mark)

  • Add the result from 25% of your O’Level score to the result from 75% of your JAMB score to calculate your aggregate score. This final score will determine whether you met Lautech cut off mark.
  • In my case, it’s 23.3 plus 66.9, resulting in a total of 70.2.
  • Assuming I’m applying for Computer Science, which requires a minimum of 63.1, my aggregate score of 70.2 puts me in a strong position to secure admission at Lautech.

Step by Step Guide to Calculating Lautech Aggregate Score: Using the 60%-40% Formula

The school might choose to apply the 60%-40% formula for calculating Lautech cut off mark and aggregate score. Under this system, your JAMB score would be multiplied by 60%, while your O’Level points would be multiplied by 40%, rather than the usual 75%-25% ratio.

In my case, my Lautech cut off mark and aggregate score would be calculated by adding (250 ÷ 400) x 60 for the JAMB score and (28 ÷ 30) x 40 for the O’Level result. This gives a final score of 74.8.
